An Outdoor Recreational Hub for People with Disabilities
The project is a Grays Harbor Chapter 111 of Trout
by an all
volunteer organization. The project is located on 152 acres with river
front access and a 32 acre lake. Some of the last remaining old growth
timber in the state of Washington is located on the site, and the area is habitat
for a wide range of wildlife. Washington State Watchable Wildlife has designated
Friends Landing as a natural wildlife scenic area. You can find Friends
35 miles west of Olympia and 12 miles east of Aberdeen, Washington.
Development of the property has proceeded in such a way as to not disturb the delicate balance of natural wetlands. To walk quietly along the river or lake is to have on display eagles flying, beaver swimming and otter peering at you from the waters of the lake. While Friends Landing is accessible to all, this natural park has been planned in its entirety for the special people among us.
